Sarah's Daily Post 09

Todays random doodle - more hexagonal musings (I've yet to find my ideal snowflake) and a simplified sketch of one of my flowers at home.

Sarah's Daily Post 08

A random still life study of what could been seen from my desk. A pear, a coaster, a bottle of water and a surgical mask. It's a while since I've drawn a formal still life and this has whetted my appetite for more.

Sarah's Daily Post 06

An up-close study of the centre of a flower - petals packed in, tumbling over each other and almost fighting to get out.

Sarah's Daily Post 04

I'm a night owl though I aspire to be a lark. I'd love to be a morning person!

Sue's Daily Drawing 004

Sarah's Daily Post 03

Blissful weightlessness. Well, almost. It's hard to be graceful when you're upside down! This is a move that I hope to perfect soon. Proportions are out but I think this captures the essense for a five minute sketch.

Cake on the brain?
Preliminary sketch scanned in to use as a starting point for a vector graphic for a current project. Tracing the swirl of piped cream has been really tricky! Maybe I'll have to buy some cake and do some proper still life drawings as "research"?

A portion of the bare-branched maple tree in my garden - lovely shapes against the skies

Sue's Daily Post 01

Draw what is in front of me: in the car, waiting for my son while on chauffeur duty, what can I draw?  Consider a tree, but the view is not good.  What can I see that is an interesting shape?  There's my hand, on the page of the book I am drawing in.....

Sarah's Daily Post 01

Today, I've been contemplating winter as I start the annual process of homemade Christmas cards. This year, I've been inspired by an amazing origami snowflake which I've found instructions for online. Now I'm doodling octagonal patterns in the hope of finding my ideal card motif.
